Chesterfield Film Makers

We are a friendly bunch of members who meet every Tuesday evening at Walton Village Centre, Chesterfield

Our Origins

Chesterfield Film Makers are a long-standing club having formed some 60 years ago. Its roots were in the Cine section of the Chesterfield Photographic society in 1957. Lillian Johnson is the Honorary Life President who joined along with her late husband Ron in 1966.

The Club

The club offers you the chance to discuss film-making in general covering subjects relating to camcorders, camera equipment and the latest techniques available. You’ll also get the opportunity to watch films shot by other members and see presentations by visiting speakers. There is a programme of events available so that you can see who the visiting speakers are. They will share with you their expertise along with their films and slideshows. You’ll also get the chance to discuss film editing using various types of software.

Here’s an excellent example made by Larry Hall

Join Us

If you’d like to become a member you will always be made to feel welcome at the club. Want to chat first? Talk to Les or David (number below) who will be happy to provide you with further information. You don’t have to own a camcorder to be a part of our club. You can just turn up to one of our meetings and talk with one of our members who will be happy to introduce the Chairman and other members. You’ll find more details on their website (below).

Members meet every Tuesday from September to April at Walton Village Centre, at 7.30 pm.
