Jogging is a great way to keep fit. It’s also a way to clear all the cobwebs away after a stressful day at work. Build both mental and physical strength to face the day ahead. Additionally, a great exercise to do on your own.
However, sometimes there are days when we just lack that motivation and being with a group would help. Jogging in a group can help you right from the start. When you meet up with the group there’s always a bit of a chat beforehand and that can lift the spirits from the offing. What happens when you get going and you reach that point where you lose the will to continue? The beauty of jogging in a group is that you can spur each other along using each other as pacemakers.
Naturally, it doesn’t have to be one or the other. Maybe, you want to do both. Or possibly, you are new to jogging and want to get started in a group so that you have a little moral support.
So where do you find a group near you to go for a jog?
They have set up a network of groups/clubs right across the county. Specifically, so that you can find a group to jog with. Needless to say, you’re going to make friends along the way and that’s a positive, right?
In the long run, (pardon the pun) there are many benefits to running in a group. So do consider it. As mentioned earlier, you can be a complete beginner. So, guess you may have a few questions. Here are a few of the more common asks:
All these questions and more are answered on the website. So its worth taking a look. If you have a question which has been mentioned then just get in touch with your chosen group and ask them.
There is a nice big button on the website which says “Find A Group”. That will take you to Active Derbyshire and a search facility to look for a jogging group near your postcode. Then the results will show you all the groups near you and provide full details. Simple as that!
If you would like to take it to the next level then you should look at Derbyshire Dynamos
