FROM WIRKSWORTH TO DUFFIELD
This is a fun day out for all the family! To start with you get a friendly welcome at the ticket office and you’ll receive another when you get on the train. The heritage trains run several times a day between Wirksworth and Duffield. You can take a look at a Timetable which is available as a small brochure from Tourist Centres throughout Derbyshire. You can also take a look at it on the website. Its a colour coded calendar and it’s easy to follow.
It’s worth keeping an eye on their website as there are often special journeys such as the ‘Malt Whiskey on a Steam Train’ 26th May and ‘Cider with Rosie’ 8th Sept in the evenings (book early). There are also special Christmas journeys too!
There’s a free car park available at both stations with ample parking. You may consider starting early from Duffield a quaint Derbyshire village where you can pick up a tasty cappuccino from the Movie Shakes cafe. Then when you arrive at Wirksworth you’ll find more to see and do.
